The A/C compressor is often referred to as the heart of the air conditioning system, as it pumps and pressurizes the system in order to keeping the refrigerant flowing. A damaged or worn out compressor will not be able to manage the refrigerant flow properly, potentially leading to a malfunctioning climate control system.
The compressor is made up of several internal parts that can start to wear out over time. If you notice loud noises when the compressor is activated, or if the A/C is not blowing as cold as it should, it may be time to replace it with a new A/C compressor.
Signs of a Failing A/C Compressor:
- A/C not blowing as cold as it used to
- A/C will not turn on
- Abnormally loud noises when the compressor is on
